PLANNING AND PREPARATION
1b. Demonstrating knowledge of the staff and technology needs of the campus
Carver has become one of the best high schools for technology in the district. We are currently able to offer every teacher a ceiling mounted projector, document camera, teacher computer, presentation computer, chromebook cart, and iPad for their instructional needs. We have begun purchasing replacements to maintain this inventory and boosting our numbers using items such as Promethean Boards of which we have begun a purchasing program. These PC's are for the PB's we have purchased as well as replacement for non teaching areas that require a PC.
The schedule shows communication in support of a teacher who successfully signed up for use of a lab on Google calender. We now have three labs available for sign up and anticipate opening a fourth next fall. While chromebooks in every classroom removes the need for labs some teachers prefer the PC labs for large project based learning.

1c. Establishing goals for the technology program appropriate to the setting and the staff served
Brightbytes revealed the same deficits at Carver and Victory as in years past. Teachers are still in a decline in the 4C's, a small fall back in at-home and foundational skills, but improved in beliefs. After examining the data with teachers in a day long PLC session, many conveyed the idea that it wasn't an issue with instructional technology but rather an understanding about what was permissible. We examined social media and other avenues of communication for teachers with students.
Unfortunately, next year we will have to explore our fear of collaboration. Students are tech savvy and use the internet to "plagiarize". This lack of understanding of the 4C's or SAMR became a chat point throughout the year with many skeptics. I look for this to become a topic with administration next year.

1d. Demonstrating knowledge of available resources, both within and outside of the district

Countless hours are spent interacting with our PLN. Questions are asked of contacts made through Twitter, G+ communities and TCEA. These important resources help me develop programs such as iTechNation, Presenter's Academy and Design Based Learning. All of which are extensively used at Carver to plan PD, provide staff learning opportunities and help me inform the Principals, Mr. Watkis and Dr. Cormier.
1e. Planning the integration of technology with the overall school program
In this coaching session with Ms. Roelse's ELA Class she is preparing to use her device, augmented reality app Google Expeditionas and her Promethean Board to take the students on a virtual field trip. This idea began with a request to use Virtual Reality goggles. After a brief coaching meeting We were able to demonstrate that she could achieve the same effect with her current PB and devices. While not achieving the same feeling of Virtual Reality this was still new enough that the students were excited and in task learning the entire ten minutes.
Brightbytes has encouraged us to move farther into developing programs like these. With the use of our new Maker Space, 3-D printer, Green Wall, and 2 Padcaster set ups teachers are beginning to explore creating videos and using expeditions such as these to enhance the learning experience.
